Why Tesla Glass Is Not Ordinary Car Glass
- Acoustic laminated glass — Teslas use multi-layer acoustic glass for cabin silence. Generic glass changes the car's sound character and quality feel.
- The camera zone — your forward-facing Autopilot cameras sit behind the windshield. The glass in that zone has specific optical requirements, and the mounting must be exact.
- Recalibration is not optional — after any windshield replacement, the Autopilot cameras must be recalibrated. This is the critical step general glass shops skip — leaving lane-keeping, emergency braking and Autopilot features operating on misaligned vision. Every replacement we do includes full recalibration.
